Chaos and I went to this antique auction some time ago. Since we got the old 126 year old Victorian house a last year , I found myself starting to frequent furniture stores while Chaos started frequenting hardware stores.  I have no idea what that means. 

 I had high hopes of finding good pieces in that auction, but nothing fit our taste. I don’t want our place to look like a museum and both of us are very picky. The only thing that caught both of our attention was a table we both liked but somebody else got it. Usually if I like something Chaos doesn’t and if he likes something I usually am not that ecstatic about it. So if we see something we both like , we tend to buy it right then and there. Of course the common ground when it comes to picking anything for both of us is that we love black or any other dark color  in the absence of black. Makes doing laundry easier in a way.

 Me being me, I am determined to not leave that place empty handed. I hate going to a store and not buying anything. Especially if we drove all the way just to be there and I had to wake up early. I ended up with a book about antiques that I know Circeris will go crazy over once she sees it and Chaos got two very old magazines circa late 18^th century. I read that thing and the ads in there were funny especially the soap advertisements and articles about the “latest” fashion wear. 

 Since I basically went out of that auction with nothing for the house, I started to look online and here is what I found. 

At first I didn’t know what to make of it since it is obviously not antique. But I got to admit , the more I look at these bunch of eyes the more I am starting to like them. I wish they didn’t use gold though. I prefer copper, silver or white gold. So what do you think, would ever consider owning these pieces.  

The figures on it were done by an artist named Piero Fornasetti. He is a Milan painter, a sculptor, an interior decorator, an engraver of art books, a creator of more than 11,000 items, a deviser of sceneries and customs, an organizer of international exhibitions and events. (Ugh I hate, envy and love him already )  His pieces were described on his site as evoking strong imagination, elegance and sense of humour.
